One of the many joys of being a new mom is shopping for baby and trying out all the fun new toys, baby care items, baby clothes and bunches more. I don’t know about you but one of my favorite places to go for these items was and always will be Target. I’ll admit it. I have a Target problem. I can never leave that store with just the items on my list. There is always a couple extra items that sneak their way into the cart. Also, just a tip, when some of the store employees start to know you by name...you may want to cut back on the Target runs.
I want to preface this review by saying - Target does not sponsor me (yet) and I am not making any money by writing this review. This is just an honest review of the Target Baby Box and my experience. I hope it helps you to make up your mind whether buying the baby box is worth it or not.
With that disclaimer out of the way, let's get to the good stuff.
What is the Target Baby Box?
The Target Baby Box is filled with fun goodies for only $5 plus shipping. What I love about the baby box is it allows you to try before you buy. The box is filled with sample size items that were probably already on your shopping list and who doesn't like trying out new useful products for baby?
Another plus is they include one special item for you - the mom. It was kind of funny to me when I opened by baby box to find Target had pulled a fast one and tricked me into buying something for myself knowing good and well us moms are so busy buying things for others that we usually forget to spoil ourselves. I see you Target. Thanks for thinking of us moms.
Aside from this being a great option to try new baby products, I think the Target Baby Box would be a great gift for any new or expecting mom. You could order the baby box online and have it delivered as a nice surprise for a friend or family member. I remember after my baby shower I thought I had enough baby stuff to last for her whole first year but some items you go through so fast and are gone in the blink of an eye. It would be nice to receive a sample box to replenish the items used. Plus, sample sized items are super convenient to toss in diaper bags!
The box came in cute gold packaging with gold polka dots on the bottom. One of my first thoughts was if this was being bought as a gift for someone it wouldn't even need to be wrapped.
This baby box included a NUK brand pacifier for 0-6 months, baby Dove Tip to Toe Baby Wash, Baby Bum SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Lotion with $3 off coupon, Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion, Earth’s Best Organic Whole Grain Oatmeal Cereal, WaterWipes Baby Wipes and Method Energy Boost Body Wash for mom.
The card that they include in the baby box has a list of all the items included with product descriptions. Target also mentions that all the samples included in the baby box are worth over $20 in value.
Target also includes a $10 off coupon to be used when you spend $50 or more on a baby department purchase. I was excited about the savings because I buy formula, diapers and wipes from Target so spending $50 on my daughter is always an easy thing to do.
The Bottom Line
I think the Target Baby Box is definitely worth the buy for either yourself or as a gift. The items they included have already been added to my diaper bag essentials. The baby box seems to be a product that is growing in popularity and I wonder if in the future they will allow you to choose the samples included. In some subscription box services like The Bump Box they even allow you to return items you may not need or won’t use. I feel like as more baby boxes get ordered Target may provide this as an option in the future. What do you think about the Target Baby Box? Have you tried it? Would you send it to someone as a gift?
